Key formulas

SIP: FV = P × [((1+i)^n − 1) / i] × (1+i)

EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1)

CAGR = (Final ÷ Initial)^(1/years) − 1

Returns shown are projections at a constant rate and are not guaranteed. Check scheme rates (PPF, EPF, SSY) on official sources, as they are revised from time to time.

Frequently asked questions

How is SIP maturity calculated?

SIP uses the future value of a monthly annuity: FV = P × [((1 + i)n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i), where P is the monthly amount, i is the monthly return (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of months. The result assumes a constant return every month, so treat it as an estimate — real mutual fund returns vary.

How is the EMI worked out?

EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r the monthly interest rate and n the number of monthly instalments. Total interest is simply EMI × n minus the loan amount.

Which tax rules does the income tax calculator use?

It uses FY 2026-27 (AY 2027-28) slabs. New regime: nil up to ₹4 lakh, then 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% for each next ₹4 lakh, and 30% above ₹24 lakh, with a ₹75,000 standard deduction and the Section 87A rebate that makes taxable income up to ₹12 lakh tax-free (with marginal relief just above it). Old regime: ₹50,000 standard deduction, your deductions, age-based slabs and the 87A rebate up to ₹5 lakh. 4% cess is added; surcharge on income above ₹50 lakh is not included.

Is FD interest compounded quarterly here?

Yes. The FD calculator compounds quarterly, which is what most Indian banks do. RD deposits are also compounded quarterly.

Do you save my numbers?

Only on your own device. Each calculator remembers your last values in your browser (local storage) so you can come back to them. Nothing is sent to a server.
