Frequently asked questions

How is crypto profit or loss calculated?

Invested = buy price × quantity. Returned = sell price × quantity − total fees. Profit or loss = returned − invested, and the return % = profit ÷ invested × 100.

Should I include exchange fees?

Yes. Add every trading, withdrawal and network fee for the trade into "Total fees" — fees can turn a small gain into a loss, especially on frequent trades.

Does this work in rupees and dollars?

Yes. The calculator has no fixed currency; just use the same currency for the buy price, sell price and fees.

How is crypto taxed in India?

Under current Indian rules, gains on crypto (virtual digital assets) are taxed at a flat 30% plus cess, losses cannot be set off against other income, and 1% TDS can apply on sales. Tax rules change, so confirm with the latest official guidance or a tax professional.
